In 2022, Myra Melford was already a guest at the Stadthaus. Now the visionary New York pianist and composer comes to Ulm again, this time with her adventurous new Splash Trio, featuring bassist Michael Formanek and drummer/vibraphonist Ches Smith. The project is the latest part of Melford's work, inspired by the painter Cy Twombly. The bold, sudden action implied by the name of the trio reflects the repulsion of energy captured on Twombly’s canvases
